'People are afraid' - the reasons 'juggernaut' Arsenal have become the side to defeat.

There's little doubt why Arsenal have become numerous fans' favorites to win the Premier League during this term.

Examine their results against Newcastle and Crystal Palace in contrast with those same matches last season.

The Gunners have beaten all of them this time around, but surrendered 10 points across those games as they faded in the title race previously.

Defensive Prowess

Arsenal's backline resilience is a primary factor why they are appearing strong to ultimately achieve their title target.

They rank top for shutouts (6), shots let in (3), attempts against (72), quality opportunities against (19) and expected goals against (5.3).

The central defensive pairing of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the strongest in the league, with Arsenal recording a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Dead-Ball Dominance

Their threat from set-pieces is well known, but rival sides still struggle to neutralize the Gunners from these situations.

They have scored 11 times from set-pieces in the league, two more than any other side, with 69% of their goals coming from these situations.

"Arsenal can perform multiple roles now. The whole team has a fear factor. People are just afraid of them and it is great to see."

Championship Claims

What is particularly notable about Arsenal's commencement to the campaign is they have also faced Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United at opposition grounds and Manchester City on home turf - and are still ahead by four points at the top.

While they continue triumphing, their historic competitors face difficulties. This marks the premier instance at this juncture of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The pressure was on manager Mikel Arteta at the outset, having allocated around £250m on eight summer additions in quest of that coveted first title since 2004.

But the business has so far proven successful in remarkable manner, with his side one of the most prolific attacks in the league and possessing the strongest defense, despite several injuries.

  • Unbreached games in each of their last three Premier League games
  • Nearly 6.5 hours without letting in a goal
  • Only a handful of concessions in 12 games across all competitions

Former players and analysts have characterized Arteta's men as a "powerhouse, looking difficult to stop" with the whole club now performing with confidence and resolve.
